ANNOUNCEMENT/ DRAMA CLUB - Wonderful Young Actors

On July 5th, 2016, some young students of mine - belonging to the Drama Club coordinated by Mrs. Mariana Huiban - paid their respects to our own Constantin Tanase by playing several comedic parts in a row. I directed one of the plays myself and I'd like to thank my lovely students for their involvement and enthusiasm. So... my thanks to: ERICA CRACIUN, ELIZA CIUC, ARIAN ASOLTANEI, and GABRIEL APOSTOL for the great job they've done in TWELFTH NIGHT by William Shakespeare, adapted by yours truly. And I'd also like to thank their parents and their classmates for their support.

It was slightly strange for them to play Shakepeare, given the fact that in Shakespeare's times the ladies' parts used to be played by boys. Perhaps I should have had all the parts played by boys, but - for the sake of fairplay - I picked girls for the male parts. Therefore ERICA CRACIUN played CESARIO, ELIZA CIUC played MALVOLIO, ARIAN ASOLTANEI played OLIVIA, and GABRIEL APOSTOL played MARIA.

I am sorry they don't have the opportunity to watch the whole play the way it used to be staged in Shakespeare's times, but at least they can glimpse at what it's supposed to look like:

These are scenes from a spectacular rendition of the play given by the Globe Theatre. Best so far, probably.

I must congratulate our lovely young actors again. I hope we'll see them on stage again, playing many other parts. Break a leg!
